Analysis: The hyped rookie quarterback replaced starter Brian Hoyer and handed the ball off to Isaiah Crowell for a 3-yard gain before returning to the sideline. He came back in later in the quarter, handing off to Crowell and then throwing a pass that was dropped by Ray Agnew.

Brees has moved into fourth place on the NFL's career yardage list, surpassing Hall of Famer John Elway.

Analysis: Brees entered Sunday's game against Cleveland needing 62 yards to go past Elway, who finished with 51,475 yards. Brees overtook the Denver Broncos legend with a 6-yard pass to tight end Jimmy Graham with 1:56 left in the second quarter.

Griffin III's season is in jeopardy after he dislocated his left ankle in the first quarter of the Washington Redskins' 41-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Analysis: Griffin was scheduled for X-rays and an MRI to determine more about the injury. He and coach Jay Gruden did not offer a timetable for the quarterback's return, but the injury typically sidelines NFL players for at least two months. If there is also a fracture, Griffin will need surgery and will almost certainly be done for the year.

Green aggravated an injured toe during the Cincinnati Bengals' opening series Sunday and was declared out for the rest of the game.

Analysis: Green missed practice time during the week with an injured toe on his right foot. He started against the Falcons but came to the sideline after a few plays to have the foot examined. He walked off without assistance, limping slightly. The Bengals said he wouldn't return.

Analysis: Palmer, who was limited at practice all week, will be replaced by Drew Stanton, an eight-year veteran who has four career starts. Palmer threw two fourth-quarter touchdowns in the season opener Monday night to rally the Cardinals over San Diego. The 34-year-old started all 16 games for Arizona last season.
