North Carolina A&T defeats Florida A&M 65-54

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) Lamont Middleton scored all 12 of his points in the second half as North Carolina A&T defeated Florida A&M 65-54 Tuesday night in the first round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament.

The seventh-seeded Aggies (16-16), who swept the Rattlers in the regular season, led 25-24 at halftime.

After the break, North Carolina A&T shot 60 percent (9 of 15), including 6 of 9 3-pointers, and made 16 of 21 free throws while Florida A&M hit 11 of 28 field goals, but only 4 of 5 foul shots.
