Fortenberry, SE Louisiana defeat Lamar 86-72

HAMMOND, La. (AP) Brandon Fortenberry scored 26 points and Southeastern Louisiana defeated Lamar 86-72 Saturday, sweeping the season series in the regular-season finale for both teams.

The Lions (12-17, 10-8 Southland Conference) have won two straight after a four-game skid. They led by eight early, but the Cardinals pulled ahead 20-18 with 8:01 left until halftime.

Southeastern Louisiana quickly regained the lead on Dre Evans' 3-pointer, but Lamar stayed close until a 6-1 Lions spurt made it 35-28 at halftime.
