Bethune-Cookman gets past Coppin State 89-78

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) Adrien Coleman scored 28 points and Kevin Dukes added 22 as Bethune-Cookman defeated Coppin State 89-78 Tuesday in a first-round game at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament.

Coleman, the conference's leading scorer, and Dukes scored nine points each during a 25-5 run that gave the eighth-seeded Wildcats (13-19) a 57-38 lead with 11:09 remaining.

Bethune-Cookman, which will play top-seeded Norfolk State in the quarterfinals Wednesday night, shot 52.4 percent (33 of 63) to end a three-game losing streak.
